Besides being the band's lead singer, he was a talented songwriter who wrote most of the lyrics in the band's original songs. After enjoying many successful years with Aventura, Romeo Santos decided to move on to a solo career in 2011. Anthony ‘Romeo’ Santos was born in The Bronx, New York, on July 21, 1981.Thanks to his parents (Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother), Romeo Santos was exposed from a very young age to the Romeo Santos was born Anthony Santos on 21st July 1981 to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother in New York City. He was born into a middle class family and his father struggled to provide his family with the means to survive while working at a construction site.
